City of Myrtle Beach Umbrella Policy now in effect

Myrtle Beach Umbrella PolicyNo. Not an insurance umbrella policy for your house. A Myrtle Beach Umbrella Policy about actual beach umbrellas. The city of Myrtle beach has declared that canopies, tents, and other shading devices, not including umbrellas and small toddler tents are restricted during the summer. Beach Umbrellas should be no bigger than seven and a half feet in diameter and should be in line with, or behind, the established umbrella line. After Labor Day and until Memorial Day, tents and canopies are allowed.

Myrtle Beach Umbrella Policy

City officials say, although tents are convenient, there were so many of them that they blocked the ocean view, which affected public safety and inhibited people from enjoying the beach. “During summer months, umbrellas up to seven-and-a-half feet in diameter are allowed in line with or behind the established umbrella line, but no other shading devices are permitted. Tents up to 12-by-12 feet square and less than nine feet tall may be used from the day after Labor Day until Memorial Day, behind the umbrella line and 10 feet apart.”

New Trends in Indoor-Outdoor Living

The latest trend in outdoor living design is shifting from pragmatic to more luxurious. But that doesn’t mean it has to break the bank.

Materials

One of the latest trends is mixing materials. Combing pieces with wood, metal, or wicker can create a fashionable and enduring style. You want your outdoor living space to last for years, so using materials that you can mix and match allows you some flexibility in replacing pieces without redesigning the whole space. New Trends in Indoor-Outdoor Living

One of the newest trends in a balanced lifestyle is indoor-outdoor living. In other words, combining your indoor life with the great outdoors. At MyUmbrellaShop, we embrace this lifestyle trend with great cushions, and umbrellas.

Bedroom

Open your sleeping area to the great outdoors with a sliding wall. It’s the best of camping and being at home. Floor-to-ceiling windows help create that illusion as well. If you can’t open your bedroom to the great outdoors, enclose a porch or patio, integrating the outdoors as part of your living space.

Living/Great Rooms

Create a living room outside. With indoor-outdoor furniture, it is possible to create an environment where you will want to spend all your time. This furniture is weather resistant, so you don’t have to worry about it when it rains. Incorporate a sheltered TV or even a fireplace to make it more like a living room.

Bringing the Outdoors in

Another fun design concept is bringing outdoor lifestyle elements into your indoor living space. Blur the line between inside and outside. For example, (properly installed) fire-pits and umbrellas add fun and uniqueness to your indoor living space. Using outdoor fabrics on furniture increases its lifespan as well as brightens a room. Adding plants and natural light help increase the sense of outdoor living inside.

Moving to the Great Outdoors

It takes more than just throwing a couch out in the backyard to create an outdoor living area. But it doesn’t have to break the bank either. You must consider the materials used when creating your new living space. MyUmbrellaShop uses materials that are resistant to rain, humidity, direct sunlight, and heat.

While wood is sturdy, it requires a certain amount of regular maintenance and care. Weather-resistant woods such as cedar, cypress, teak or redwood are preferable for resisting wear.

Rattan and wicker need regular weatherproofing. But they are comfortable. There are synthetic options to help assist resin coating to last.

Steel and wrought iron furniture provide the sturdiest choices and work well outdoors. Be sure to occasionally paint and treat these pieces with a weatherproof finish to avoid rust.

Accessories need to be durable enough to maintain their beauty and quality. We have a wide variety of colors, styles, and fabrics to choose from. All of our fabrics are mildew and stain resistant.

Indoor-outdoor living is not just a passing trend. This is a change in people’s thinking about maximizing your living space as well as embracing nature and adding some fun to life.

Umbrella Care & Cleaning

Proper cleaning and care for your umbrella will extend the life of your beloved beach or patio umbrella.

Cleaning

The first step in cleaning your umbrella is understanding it’s parts. There is the frame, consisting of five main components, and the cover, our company refers to this as a skin. Knowing these parts can help you later down the road should you need replacement parts.

Cleaning The Frame

As we mentioned before the frame consists of five main components. These components are:
· Vertical pole, either center pole or offset
· Lower hub which is the part that moves up and down the vertical pole and holds together the small ribs
· Upper hub, which holds together the top of the long ribs
· Ribs (usually 8 ribs), which have a long rib connecting to the top hub and a short rib connecting to the runner hub
· Finial, which is the crown that screws into the top of the patio umbrella
